The countdown is on!

Moving day is 10 days away and we have been packing.  The cool rainy weather we had over the weekend made it a bit easier to get down to it.  I now realize that I have underestimated the amount of work and emotional energy needed to move from the place we have called home for the last 15 years but I know come next weekend it will all be worth it.

Echo Hall is a significantly bigger house than the one we currently live in so there has been a lot of discussion about how we will fill the space.  I have been spending a lot of time scouring second-hand stores and Kijiji and have found some great stuff.  All of which I am completely excited to incorporate into  our new place.

I found these awesome bamboo reproduction nesting tables at a little second-hand place in Port Rowan near out cottage.  I am thinking they would look great painted black!

IMG_0396Kijiji is a great resource for all kinds of interesting pieces.  I have found Simon who works in the film industry and is always posting stuff from film and tv sets as well as cool vintage pieces he comes across.  These 2 chairs are going to look beautiful once they are painted and paired with the metal bistro chairs around my dining room table.

In addition to packing and sourcing furniture (and working),  I have been trying to get the kids to go through their stuff.  I was surprised at how well they did.  They were actually willing to part with some stuff that I  wanted to keep!  All this editing and getting rid of stuff is getting me really excited when I think about how clean and organized the new place will be.  All that aside, I couldn’t believe my son William wanted to get rid of this!
