What a weekend! We took possesion of the house Friday. Saturday we moved in. It was, as I said, both stressful and exciting. Full of laughs and lots of friends and family stopping by to see the new place.
The most hilarious part of the move on Saturday was when the historical house tour trolley made their stop in front of the house for the big Doors Open Tour. We had no idea that our place was to be a stop on the tour and the organizers of the tour obviously had no idea that we were moving in that day. Regardless, we had a trolley full of old house enthusiasts touring past our place every 90 minutes Saturday while the moving truck emptied our stuff and we sat in our lawn chairs on the porch drinking cold beer and waving at them!
So we are finally in and now comes the hard part of finding a home for all the stuff. The challenging thing is that this house is Huge!! We don’t have nearly enough furniture and the scale of the furniture that looked perfect in our old place may not be quite right. So once boxes are unpacked (which I am hoping will be by the end of the day Friday) I can start on all my projects.
Coming soon, in future posts, you can look for my DIY as I revive some old pieces I have found. There will be some crafty projects for the kids rooms and of course the interior transformation of us making it the Krouse House. Also, watch for a gallery for all the photos I have been taking along the way.
And for those of you who are looking for more Chloe…..here she is! 😉
